I’m Peter Mathis. I’ve been making wine at Ravenswood for more than 20 years. Mathis Vineyard, in the hills above Sonoma Valley, is my “old school” project. Here I cleared the land more than a decade ago and planted mostly Grenache, with some Carignane, Petite Sirah and Alicante Bouschet.
I own it. I farm it. I make the wine.
is my passion. Ten years after first introducing my “baby” I added my inaugural Rosé de Grenache in 2012. Newly released is the 2012 Sonoma Valley Grenache. It's great with a lot of foods, including just about everything at your Thanksgiving table (hint! hint!).
